Scott Weller Presents: The PMS Triangle – Let’s Get Spiritual

This was the toughest part of the PMS triangle for me. I grew up in a religious household and I could not wait to get out and start living my own life, and leave God and the church behind me. In the last year, I have really started to understand and implement spiritual aspects of life and success has just flowed to me easier than I could ever have imagined.

First off, let’s distinguish religious from spiritual. Religious, as I have interpreted it, is when you follow a set structure of beliefs. Spiritual is when you constantly ask what is your  purpose and why. Religious is a laid out path, while spiritual is a wide open field of possibility. Religious is your relationship with god, spiritual is your relationship with everything. Neither one is better than the other but because I, myself, am more spiritual, that is where I focus and focus is very important.

Everything in this world is made of energy. Yes, there are molecules, atoms and blah blah blah… Who are you kidding? You don’t even know what those are. You just remember something about it from 7th grade Science class. If you could take a microscope and look at everything that is around you, in it’s most minute form, it would be energy. This energy is powerful and, if used properly, can create amazing things. Have you seen Star Wars? Think of this energy like the force. If you train hard and remain disciplined, you become a Jedi!

How do you learn how to become a Jedi?

  • Read some books on Quantum Physics or self development. I would recommend by starting with the book that started it all for me and changed my life forever, “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.
  • Try meditation or yoga. It will bring you back to a very natural, peaceful frame of mind. It will help you live consciously (don’t worry, it will start to make sense).
  • Get a mentor. I know I keep harping on the mentor idea but a mentor will help you develop in all aspects of your life.

Once I started implementing a few of these ideas into my regular routine, success seemed to flow to me effortlessly and frequently. Everything I wanted seemed to appear before my eyes. I met people I never would have dreamed meeting and I know it was all due to my realization that everything in our existence has a spiritual side to go along with the physical.

I’m sure you have had times in your life where you seem to be putting in a ton of physical effort to get something done. So much, in fact, that you are completely exhausted and on the verge of giving up. Perhaps you just need to balance out the equation by simply adding some spiritual and stir until desired consistency!

Where did Ditch Digger to CEO and Blue Collar Begone come from?

Where did Ditch Digger to CEO and Blue Collar Begone come from?

Lately, I have been bombarded with the same questions over and over again…

“What is it that motivates you to be so driven?””Where did Ditch Digger to CEO and Blue Collar Begone come from?”

Let me take a few minutes to explain for everyone out there. I have been in the blue collar industry for about 10 years now. I cleaned carpets for over 4 years and was laid off due to a very slow post-Christmas season. This eventually led to 4 or 5 months of struggling to find a position that fit me just right which eventually ended up with me living at home with Dad again!

Or

Waking up in the middle of the night to my co-worker/hotel room mate smoking crack and “entertaining” a young lady with fishnet stockings whose name was clearly randomly chosen from the back of a cereal box.

Or

Working in the pitch black, dead of night when it was – 41 degrees Celsius (that’s -41.8 F for my American friends) because we had to get some pipe moved for the next morning. Then returning at 8 am the next morning for work after not finishing the night before until 1 am.

Or

Watching a co worker get pinned to a slab of concrete by a piece of clay the size of a Volkswagen after it rolled 30 meters downhill off of the edge of a trench.

Or

Constantly sacrificing holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and every other memorable events just so you wouldn’t be the first cut come layoff season.

Or

Having your body break down to the point of where you are in extreme pain when going up a simple flight of stairs.

Or

Living out of a suitcase

Or

Covering for your nightshift foreman who is hopped up on crack every night, not showing up and then blaming everything that goes wrong on you.

Or

After being with the same company for over 2 years, you only see a .55 cent raise, while other workers, who you trained, were given $1.25 after 6 months.

I am not sharing this with you to complain, it is to show you that I waited too long! I allowed life to come to me for far too long and wasted valuable time. Now, I am taking my life back. I now take my struggles from the past and allow them to fuel the fire taking me into the future. I am in control of my life. No more layoffs! No more work related injuries, drugs, prostitutes or any of the frustrations with working long hours away from family and friends. I choose to live a life of possibilities. I am possible-ifying my life!

The PMS Triangle – Getting Physical

The PMS Triangle – Getting Physical

Let’s focus on the “P” of the PMS Success Triangle. So what do we mean by physical effort?

PMS_Triangle

Any effort that requires taking physical action would fall into this category. So preparing yourself physically for success – eating properly, exercising and keeping a strong and healthy body does play it’s part but is just one piece of the puzzle here. The most important aspect of the Physical part of the PMS Triangle is the physical action of “action taking.”

Taking action is usually the point in the process that people tend to magically disappear. Research, planning and all the preliminary parts of the process seem to be a little easier for people to commit to because you can always walk away if things become uncomfortable or challenging. When push comes to shove and it’s time to take action, that’s when people tend to get “cold feet.”

With blue collar, construction-type personalities I have found that we seem to be the exception to the rule here. We tend to be very action orientated and welcome the opportunity to just, “get ‘er done.” With that being said, we are talking about some fairly significant changes here and we all know, blue collar construction-type personalities don’t always do well with change!

But here’s the thing….

If you’re rigging a load, and it just doesn’t seem to be fitting, you don’t keep trying and fighting with it, shoving it hoping it might fit! You don’t decide since you have to change the game plan a bit, you’re just going to give up and walk away. The job has to get done! So what do you do? You lower the load, re-assess and then CHANGE your plan accordingly to ensure success the next time. Then you TAKE ACTION and you “get ‘er done!”

Why attempt to fight and shove life into a spot where it’s not fitting?

If you want to change the way your life is and what your life has in it, how do you expect it to change if you continue to walk away from tough situations? Simply, take the time to reassess your life, and take action. PHYSICALLY DO what you need to, to ensure success. To ensure you start heading in YOUR right direction.

Once you start following the PMS Triangle, opportunities are going to start finding you on a regular basis. Don’t walk away! Don’t be scared of change! This is a very important and necessary step in going from ditch digger to CEO.

In the Beginning (Scott Weller Version)

2009
10.19

I grew up in a pretty decent situation, now that I look around and see what some people were exposed to. I do have some demons in my past which, more and more, as time passes by, affect me less and less.

As a middle child, I grew up flying under the radar, getting away with more than maybe I should have. I feel bad now looking back because I really took full advantage of this. I had house parties and invited people (notice I did not say friends, who came never mattered to me as long as it was fun) to come over, drink and have the time of their lives on the weekends my Mother was out of town on business. I was a completely disrespecting, adolescent with absolutely no regard for anyone or anything that should have meant something to me at that time in my life. All I cared about was being fun. Being the funny guy. Being the guy that everyone said was a blast and that they loved hanging around me. I know now, how sad that time in my life really was.

This lifestyle followed me through to my mid twenties where I did some crazy things, and I may even qualify them as down right stupid. I’m not going to get into details but feel free to ask my little sister. She saw how out of control and ridiculous I really was.

Through those years there are thoughts that really stand out in my mind. “Man, does life get any better than this?” “I’m the funniest guy alive!” “Wow, is she ever hot! I bet she wants me!” All of which were conceived in the same moment as I was wiping away the vomit remaining on my chin after ducking under a table to remain unseen by the bouncers. I’m pretty sure that the girls I was referring to, were just staring in absolute disgust after I aided them in realizing what a half digested, 3 meat pizza pop mixed with Kokanee looks like when it is “sent back to where it came from!”

Throughout all the partying and drinking and attempted fraternizing, (yes…. attempted) I would also have, what I now believe, to be the beginning of my current consciousness. When I say consciousness, I don’t mean to hint at the idea that I am “enlightened”. Far from it! Although I am working towards it.

I remember vividly, on many occasions having this one thought. This one thought is now the basis I live my life on. This one thought rolls me out of bed at 4am when I couldn’t sleep until midnite. This one thought tells me, “yes you can,” when everyone else screams, “NO YOU CAN’T!” This one thought has taken me from the pathetic mess I was and has created amazing opportunity for me, in every single day I live.

This one thought was, “I know I am here for a reason, an important reason…. but…. What is it?”
