Quote of the Day – April 3, 2010
A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down.

Managing Talent – Paul Hendricks – The American Misfit and Outlaw
I was so fortunate to have met so many talented people who inspired me to get into talent management. A good number of those introductions have come over the last 12 months. One such meeting was a gentleman named Paul Hendricks. He is a very talented and charismatic guy who I hope to represent one day in the near future.
This guy has an amazing story! Check it out…
My first impression of Paul was, “what biker gang did this guy come from? And who did he rob to get here?!?!?” Sorry Paul!!
Paul is a larger-than-life character. His arms are covered in tattoos and he really does look like a biker. He is intimidating. But after hearing his voice for all of 20 seconds, you can tell he is a big teddy bear!
After getting to know Paul, he shared with me his story and his amazing journey to where he is today! I hope you don’t mind if I share it Paul….
I almost welled up listening to it.
In Paul’s words:
“I was so depressed with my life. I was a bad guy! I had no direction! I didn’t care about anyone or anything. My girlfriend had left me, but not only left me, she moved from the east coast to Hawaii! To Hawaii… Just to get away from me! That’s what I did!
I was so depressed that I decided that this was the end for me! I pulled out a bunch of blow and decided that if I was going to out, I was going to go out partying! This is the way I wanted to end it!
So I had it all spread out in front of me, I had started in on the destiny I felt fate had brought me to on that night, when I felt something on the back of my head. Something wet on my neck… I turned around and my dog was sitting there…. staring at me! I swear, he never opened his mouth… he said nothing, but I heard the words, “Who will take care of me now?”
Those words changed my life! I cleaned up my act, packed up myself and my dog, flew to Hawaii and started a whole different life for myself!”
First of all, thank you Paul for sharing your story with me! It’s a great story! I really appreciate how vulnerable you allow yourself to be and show that even people in the worst of situations… people who have dug such a rut in their lives that it more closely resembles a grave… these people have the choice to change their lives at any given point!
I have stared down at the bottom of a ravine from the wrong side of rails on a bridge. I know how difficult it is to live with yourself once you realize everything you hate about your life, you have brought on yourself. Just know that from this point on, everything becomes so much easier. There are people, like Paul, who share their message so that those who are struggling, see that they can make the change and become as big as they want to be! I was intimidated by Paul, initially, not because of his tattoos, not because he looks like a biker but because he IS LARGER THAN LIFE! His heart fills the room and then some because he knows what it feels like to be empty inside!
Paul loves to spread his story and speaks all across the country. Paul has written his first book in a three book series, so make sure you go to www.paulehendricks.com and check for availability.
I can’t wait to get my signed copy of:
“WAKE UP! The Enlightenment of an American Misfit and Outlaw”.
Paul, you are truly an inspiration!
Are you an actor, musician, writer or artist looking to share their talents with the world?

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.
